Maple Agave Toasted Walnuts

I found this recipe for toasted walnuts recently and thought I’d give it a try for my kids who are not huge nut fans. They can eat pistachios by the handfuls, but walnuts and others are picked out of the trail mixes I try. The recipe called for maple syrup, but I modified it to use Trader Joe’s Organic Maple Agave Syrup. I just finished a batch and they are fantastic. I can’t keep away from them.

Maple Agave Toasted Walnuts

2 cups Walnut Halves

1/3 cup Trader Joe’s Organic Maple Agave Syrup or any other Maple Syrup

Pinch of coarse salt

Mix nuts and syrup in a bowl. Heat saute pan. Pour nut mixture in pan, sprinkle with salt and saute for 3 minutes.

Pour onto cookie sheet to cool. I tried cooling them on wax paper but they stuck.
